Exploring the Witch Wound

Many years of training herbalists has shown me how present the Witch Wound still is among us — expressed through countless micro-aggressions, not only those we experience from others, but also those we have internalised and turn against ourselves. Left unexamined, this subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) wound can profoundly affect how we grow in sensitivity, deepen our connection with nature, and trust our own expression of it.

The witch trials, spanning over 300 years, left a vast imprint on the collective psyche. While the direct trauma inflicted on those accused was horrific, our work with this lineage reveals something even broader: that the cultivation of otherness and hatred — enforced through violence and torture — seeded a miasm of fear that still moves through our culture today. Even those not drawn to nature-connection may need to look closely at the subtle ways they have inherited or perpetuated this pattern of suppression toward those who walk these paths.

In this Zoom session, there will be space to share your own experiences of this wound and to listen to the stories of others. Together, we will hold a simple ritual to honour those who have walked these paths before us and to cultivate a compassionate field of solidarity — one that can support you as you continue on your way.
